Warehouse Specialist

Primary Function:
Responsible for shipping and receiving items in an accurate and timely fashion, including  updating the computer system concerning these activities.

Primary Duties:

• Picks, packs and ships customer orders in an accurate and timely manner.
• Loads and unloads trucks and moves material in the warehouse both manually and with an industrial forklift.
• Enters received items into inventory and stores them in the proper location.
• Performs buildings and grounds maintenance and housekeeping to insure a safe and orderly work place.
• Performs cycle counts of inventory items to insure accuracy.
• Updates the computer system with current receiving and inventory location data.
• Conducts specialty projects and performs other related duties as assigned by management, or to fulfill the “Primary Function” of the job .

Physical Activity:
Lifting of up to 70 pounds is required.. Considerable walking, climbing of stairs and extended reaching necessary. Will have to work with computers, telephones, fax machines, copiers and calculators Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education, Knowledge, Competencies, & Skills Required:

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Five to ten years Warehouse or Shipping/Receiving experience a plus.
• Must be mechanically inclined to do assembly.
• Computer literate.
• Knowledge of company products, the industry, competitors, basic business concepts, and an understanding of customer needs and expectations.
• Must understand the workings of the transportation industry.
• Strong phone skills necessary
• Needs strong organizational skills.
